Let's pray and care for creation, together.
We invite you to join the World Day of Prayer for Creation on September 1. After the release of Laudato Si' and the Paris Climate Agreement, we have many concerns about our care for the Earth. Rather than allowing these concerns to overwhelm and fracture us, let us "be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." (Romans 12:12)
More than a day, it's a "Season of Creation."
We invite you to pray for creation in a special way not only on September 1, but also anytime leading up to October 4, which is the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi. More and more faith communities in recent years are celebrating the days of September 1 - October 4 as the "Season of Creation."
The Season of Creation website offers beautiful resources for individual and small group prayer, as well as Catholic and interfaith prayer vigils.
We offer this prayer written by Pope Francis in Laudato Si'.
