June 1 was a difficult day for our country and the world as President Trump announced the United States’ intent to withdraw from the Paris climate agreement. We know that so many of Maryknoll's supporters were instrumental in calling for climate action and ultimately for the success of the Paris Agreement.
Thank you for your faithful actions.
As people of faith, we know that the work to repair the brokenness of our world and come into right relationship with creation and each other is long and difficult. We stand with you on that journey.
We shared our dismay with Trump’s decision and joined voices across our country in saying that we are still in and the work for climate justice will go on. Read our statement here.
Since June 1, more than a thousand people of faith, investors (including the Maryknoll Sisters), corporations, and city and state governments have said that they will honor the Paris commitments through the "We Are Still In” campaign.
Take action: Send a letter to your governor urging him or her to say “We are still in.”
Our commitments made in Paris are achievable and, in fact, we can do more. With the United States withdrawing from the Paris Agreement on a national level, it’s more important than ever for governors to take action at the state level.
Don’t give up hope! We will move forward with the world to address climate change. Take this first step by sending a letter to your governor today.
