Election day in the United States is 20 days away, with early voting already underway in many states. The elections will have significant consequences for migration policy, and this webinar will set out to explain what would be more in line with Catholic Social Teaching, and how one might evaluate candidates with platforms that fall short of those Catholic teachings. The webinar will be led by Maryknoll Lay Missioner Heidi Cerneka, an immigration lawyer in El Paso, Texas, Maryknoll Sister Susan Nchubiri, program associate at MOGC, and Iqbal Ahmad, from Afghanistan, Intern and Fellow of the University of Notre Dame Kroc Institute.
Today's webinar at 6pm ET is titled "Debt Relief in a Jubilee Year."
The recording of previous webinars are on our website and on YouTube. It is still possible to register in many states, so be sure to register or check your registration and make a plan to vote, either at your polling location on November 5, or earlier, according to your state's early voting policies. Early signs indicate that turnout on November 5 will be large, and with a contentious election it might be best to bank your vote early.
